Chartered Building Surveyor

Due to growth plans, we are looking for an ambitious; MRICS qualified or equivalent professional member Building Surveyor to join our team in Belfast.

Watts in Belfast carries out a wide variety of Building Surveying activities complimented by Quantity Surveying and Project Management. Our client base includes private individuals, commercial agents and property management companies, national retailers, further education bodies, telecoms enterprises, banks and social housing organisations.

It is expected that suitable candidates would have a minimum of 1 years’ experience since obtaining Chartered status however exceptional candidates with lesser experience shall be considered.

The Role

In this role there will be a focus on professional work on a wide variety of selected projects including:

• Commercial new build, refurbishment and fit out projects
• Residential and mixed use developments
• Retail
• Healthcare & Education
• Light industrial

Your profile

As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will be capable of working with the minimum of supervision in all aspects of Building Surveying including but not limited to:.

• Contract Administration/Employers Agent roles
• Defects Analysis of existing buildings and associated report writing
• Dilapidations
• Building surveys, commercial and due diligence reports
• Specification writing for minor works (new build) and a full scope of maintenance or refurbishment works
• Site supervision
• Monitoring construction works in respect of quality and progress and reporting to clients
• Training of junior staff and the ability to supervise APC candidates
• Chairing meetings
• Reporting direct to clients including milestone reports, progress reports and presentations
• Interfacing with existing and potential clients
• Driving schemes forward from brief to delivery and occupation
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by Directors and Associates from time to time
