The key to any consultant’s role is to plan effectively within the constraints of the related contracts with the aim to set a clear path that and everyone is aware of who, what, when and how tasks will be undertaken.
We will plan all activities from the client engagement, the design stages to procurement and delivery with achievable timescales and milestones, logic linked and defined.
Watts are also ISO 9001 accredited and run a thorough QA process for which we are audited on a quarterly basis with random spot checks on compliance with our QA procedures. We are also RICS regulated and uphold the standards of a chartered company authorized under contract to provide Contract Administration services.
Contract Administration encompasses the following services:
- Define the responsibilities of the employer, employer’s agent and contractor
- Represent the employer’s interests under the appropriate building contract
- Appraise and quantify the risks
- Formulate the employer’s priorities and identify specific requirements
- Assess and undertake a design audit of the contractor’s proposals to ensure compliance with the employer’s requirements
- Evaluate contract sum analysis and stage payments and assess value for money
- Set up quality control procedures and report on works carried out on site, including site visits
- Chair meetings, lead the team and act as the Employers representative
- Implement changes to the employer’s requirements following approval
- Provide advice, guidance, instructions, certificates, statements, notices
- Agree and recommend stage payments
- Prepare monthly control statements and cash flow forecasts
- Ensure operation and maintenance manuals are prepared and approved
- Advise on practical completion and final completion
