Party Wall
The Party Wall etc Act 1996 confers certain rights and obligations on building owners regarding works to party walls, excavations close to structures, and construction on legal boundaries. The Act also provides a structure for the prevention and resolution of disputes between neighbours, through the appointment of P arty Wall Surveyors who must take a practical and impartial view within the framework of the Act to ensure work is carried out in a manner that protects the rights of all parties involved.
