Watts Group appoints Carl Pledger as head of Project Management

UK property and construction specialist Watts Group has hired Carl Pledger as national director of Project Management.

Based in London, he will lead the company’s Project Management team across its seven offices, as it seeks to expand.

Watts Group’s Chairman, Trevor Rushton, said: “Carl’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for us as we continue to expand our nationwide business by building on our core strengths and embracing new opportunities.”

Carl, who has worked extensively in the UK and internationally for over 30 years, said: “My focus is on growing the Project Management team here at Watts, looking at where we can expand our service offering by developing our work with new and existing clients, and exploring new markets.”

He added: “We have a well-structured team with a good foundation that has worked together successfully for several years, and we have great clients. That is a solid backbone to grow the team around and develop our business.”

Carl has previously worked for corporate design and construction consultancies in the UK and overseas, including 12 years in the UAE where some of his roles included design manager for underground stations on the Dubai Metro and The Tower, a super-high rise building.

In the UK, Carl has delivered projects including listed buildings, within UNESCO World Heritage sites and with organisations including Network Rail, regional constabularies, local authorities and private developers. Most recently he has led the design of strategic infrastructure on Linmere, a large-scale housing development close to the M1 motorway in Bedfordshire.
