As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in supporting Watts in the next stage of growth working with and supporting the National Monitoring Team. The role involves delivering high quality core services and contributing to the overall team success.
You will work closely with cross functional teams, stakeholders, and management to drive success & achieve organisational objectives, contributing to the development of the business. It is not expected that you will be expert in all areas and training and support will be given to develop your knowledge.
The role
Main duties will include but are not limited to, the following:
- To deliver cost planning and cost management services in relation to construction projects and in support of the wider building consultancy team.
- To help deliver and support the growth of the cost consultancy service line and expand the existing offer to key commercial investor clients within office, retail, residential, leisure, industrial and commercial office portfolios.
- Pre and post contract stages including feasibility studies, cost planning, reporting on tenders and agreeing final accounts.
- Sound knowledge of building contracts including JCT.
- Deliver services with autonomy and engender confidence in clients.
- Commercially focused: Develop client relationships so you become a key point of contact & willing to attend events/seminars.
About you
You have a degree qualification in a relevant discipline and ideally will be a member of a professional body such as RICS, CIOB or APM. You are a strategic thinker with commitment to maintaining high standards of practice. Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and work well as part of a team. You are self-reliant but willing to learn and develop.
