Chartered Building Surveyor

Due to growth plans, we are looking for an ambitious; MRICS qualified or equivalent professional member Building Surveyor to join our team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor  to join a well-established and social team who can take responsibility for a number of projects, acting as the sole contact with each client as well as provide support to the existing team in the delivery of projects.

We are looking for a candidate with board commercial experience in a number of  areas, with Technical Due Diligence, Party Wall, and Project experience being key. It is not expected that you will be expert in all areas and training and support will be given to develop knowledge. You will be MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body and have previous experience within a consultancy

The role

In this role there will be a focus on professional work on a wide variety of selected projects including:

  • Commercial new build, refurbishment and fit out projects
  • Residential and mixed use developments
  • Retail
  • Healthcare & Education
  • Light industrial
  • Film & Media
  • Student Accommodation

About you

You will be client facing with previous experience of managing a project from inception through to completion. We are looking for someone who is a team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious. You will be expected to have a good working knowledge of industry standard software, including Microsoft Office and Autocad Lt. Training will be provided with regards company specific software systems that you will be required to use.

  • Job initiation including clarification of the Clients Brief and objectives
  • Property inspections and preparation of reports
  • Preparation of project programmes in MS Project with critical path analysis
  • Management of meetings, taking and preparation of minutes
  • Specification writing
  • Working knowledge of various forms of building contracts
  • Managing multiple projects across different sectors
  • Preparation and management of contract documents
  • Management of multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Delivery of the Clients Brief and objectives
  • Administering building contracts
  • Development of Client relationships and repeat business through delivery of proactive professional services
  • Networking and company representation
  • Fee management and billing
