Watts produced a detail survey of the makeup of the build fabric to ascertain the presence of combustible materials within the façade of the 25 storey student accommodation block. Watts then competitively tendered for a remediation partner who was appointed under a PCSA, before being engaged under a Design and Build contract to complete the works.

The scope included carefully removing the façade panels and storing them to be reinstalled while the combustible insulation was removed and a new VCL installed. The works were carried out while maintaining full occupation of the building throughout and with minimal disruption to the occupants, through careful management by Watts and close engagement with all stakeholders.
