Watts’ Project and Cost Management teams are supporting the resident directors of this leasehold residential building in scoping the works for, and securing government funding for, a programme of fire safety remediation works to the external façade, where original construction has left a legacy of unsafe materials and poor compartmentation.
After procuring and coordinating intrusive investigations, Watts supported the client’s fire engineer and architect in defining the necessary scope of works to make the building safe against the tight funding constraints of the UK government’s Building Safety Fund. Now awaiting final funding approval, Watts are leading the team through the final steps of the main contractor procurement to prepare for contract award, on receipt of funding, and start on site in 2024.
